First, let's acknowledge that this is a tough feat to import all this data and sometimes our system might encounter a problem that we've not seen before and things will break. Fortunately Orderimp was built by some very talented people and we have been able to address about 95% of all issues that might pop up. On the off chance that you run into an issue that still causes problems there are a few things that you can try to get it sorted out quickly:

  1. Some systems will export your CSV files correctly, but surround the entire csv file with strange quotes. This gives our system a little trouble. Usually if you take a look at the file you can see these little guys and can simply delete them then try importing again.
  2. Orderimp uses the standard utf-8 encoding which is the most common and most widely accepted format on the internet. If your csv file has characters that are not utf-8 it's possible this has caused our system to throw an error. Often this can be fixed by going to File > Save As and checking that utf-8 is selected. Not all programs will show this, so you might need to Google 'How to convert to utf-8 using X program' to find the specific directions.
  3. Look for strange characters in your file. We've seen all manner of strange characters that can cause the system to break. You may want to look through your csv file for any out of the ordinary characters that might be causing this error.

If you are still struggling to get your CSV file to import successfully, you can look at some possible validation tools that might be able to help you. Every case is different and you know your data better than anyone so the more you can test before importing the better.
